  1. I was very satisfied with my new lights ,What I like the most is that they are hard to tamper with ,They have a glass cover with screws. And you can adjust the light from high to low…

  2. These lights are great I put 2 of them on our new home and they light up the whole 1/2 acre back yard.

  3. The sensor did not detect consistantly easily fooled. Depending on the temperature and weather wind, rain, snow, it either came on too easy or not at all. I ended up replacing it with a RAB motion sensor light like other people did.

Addition: 2/23/2010 – These lights just bite. So do the version in black. I found that these damn lights went on in the full sun of the morning when I was away for weeks on end. I can hardly wait for my electric bill.

I bought these lights to provide a degree of illumination when I enter my driveway, plus provide a modicum of security when I am away for extended periods of time. The installation was pretty straight forward with the exception of needing to buy some silicon for waterproofing. Everything is provided to install the light with the exception of the silicon. The bulbs are quite delicate and need to be handled carefully.

The light works. However, the sensor is easily fooled. A light drift of snow caused it to go on & off for hours. A heavy rain did the same thing. One day it just decided the early morning sunlight dappling on my Cherry tree (50′ feet away) deserved a full on & off sequence. In short, it doesn’t seem to know what’s worthy, and what’s not. I’ve played around with the sensitivity of the sensor, but this time around I decided to turn off the thing as it became a real bother in -20 F degree. Also, I’m pretty sure my neighbors didn’t like seeing this goofy light go on & off at all points of the evening.

Since it’s perched high on a shed, and since it took me a good chunk out of my life – I’ll let it sit and will turn it on come Spring 2010. In short – a bummer.

  5. Piece of junk. The lights stay on constantly. Yes, they warn to keep the lights away from the sensor but apart from sawing the lights off the base and re-wiring them somewhere else (yes, I was tempted) I can’t keep them any further apart (and let’s not even talk about the folly of such a design to begin with). OK, I thought maybe the motion sensor was so sensitive that moths were setting it off and that’s why it stays on all night, but this thing just seems to have no shut off whatsoever. It even stays on during the day (and no, it’s not mounted in a dark place, and not it’s not in test mode, and no there’s nothing bright shining on it–except the sun, maybe I’m supposed to turn that off, too). I give up. I’ve spent 2 weeks trying to troubleshoot this garbage. As another reviewer said, save it as a switched-light–if you can get it to work in test mode, that is.
